We are back in Stone Town and hence I have used the opportunity to get some Internet access to update the blog. Not posting so many photos this time as I just haven’t had the time. Keeping up with the writing is enough of a task as it is, especially since on Safari there is no power so the laptop battery drains out and dies. I expect the blog to tater off for a while until we get to Egypt as I don’t know if we will have the time to seek out an Internet Cafe or if I will have the time to write much up. I will try to update it whenever possible. I’ve heard there have been many people asking what was happening as the website had not been updated in days. Bare in mind that this is Africa, getting a connection is not always easy. Also this is a holiday, I’m not supposed to be going flat-chat 24/7. I have very busy touring days, so whenever there’s a break I want to relax not run around finding an Internet Café. In short, don’t expect this to be updated every few days or even weekly; when it happens, it happens. I may post some photos over the next few days if I feel like doing it. I finally found a place that has wireless Internet. Haven’t had the opportunity to look through my photos yet, so may just pick out some randoms to post. I’m sure I will upload a whole bunch of shots when I get back anyway
Previously I had been trying to use wired access with my laptop. Not only is the access hella slow (some of you may have read of the Internet cables being severed to the African, Middle East region the other week, I have no idea if it has been fixed yet, but everyone had resorted to dial-up for that period as there was no broadband), but the wired access is a pain in the ass to get working. This reinforces why I hate Windows, I miss my Mac in these circumstances… the Mac would just work. The last block of 30 mins access we bought, we only had it working for 5 minutes to send out a few emails then we lost the connection again.
